About the Role
To assist the professional nursing staff in the area of perioperative nursing care, and department duties under the direction and guidance of the Registered Nurse. The perioperative preadmission scheduler schedules all surgical procedures and ensures that all of the appropriate clinical and insurance coding information is collected for the surgery schedule. The scheduler receives requests to schedule procedures from physician offices and schedules the procedure according to established guidelines. The scheduler provides accurate information so that all departments may view it daily and maintains open communication with hospital departments and physician offices regarding schedule changes. The schedule will perform other duties as assigned by the surgical services manager.
Qualifications:
• Current Arizona LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) in good standing
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with medical diagnostic procedures
• Effective verbal communication, problem solving, prioritization and organization
• Knowledge of HIPAA/Confidentiality
