DOUGLAS — Copper Queen Medical Associates will begin holding telemedicine endocrinology appointments on Wednesdays.
Patients will first be seen by Family Nurse Practitioner Pearlie Wilson for their Primary Care Provider visit at 11 a.m. or 3 p.m., followed by their telemedicine appointment with TMCOne’s board-certified endocrinologist Dr. Shubh Preet Kaur at 11:30 a.m. or 3:30 pm.
Dr. Kaur specializes in diagnosing and treating diabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal and pituitary gland disorders, metabolic disorders, menstrual irregularities, osteoporosis and calcium disorders.
“I believe in providing the same care to each patient that I would want for my family,” Dr. Kaur said. “My goal is to provide evidence-based, cost-effective and personalized health care of the highest quality to all my patient.”
“We are excited to be able to bring Dr. Kaur to Copper Queen Medical Associates Douglas,” said Copper Queen Community Hospital CEO Jim Dickson. “There are only four endocrinologists in Tucson and being able to have one in Douglas via telemedicine is important. Copper Queen continues to forge a path into the future of rural healthcare.”
“I am a strong advocate of telemedicine services,” said Dr. Daniel Allen Roe, medical director for Copper Queen Hospital’s Emergency Department. “Through them, we are able to bring specialty care directly to our patients without time consuming and costly transport out of town and away from their family. Our partnerships with other healthcare organizations are fundamental to bringing this level of expertise to our patients.”
