BISBEE—The Arizona Department of Health Services has renewed the Level IV Trauma Center status for Copper Queen Community Hospital. The hospital received the notification, effective Dec. 8, 2015, from the Arizona Department of Health Services Bureau of Emergency Medical Services and Trauma System.

The three-year designation solidifies the hospital’s reputation as a premier hospital of choice for residents and visitors in Southern Arizona. As reported in the notification, Copper Queen Hospital is noted for its continued commitment and service to the citizens and visitors of Arizona through participation in the Arizona Trauma System.

“We recognize the importance of being a Level IV trauma provider for the Bisbee community and surrounding area,” said hospital CEO Jim Dickson. “Completion of our emergency department construction and expansion has enhanced our trauma care capabilities.”

The report praised the new facility layout, noting that is has improved the overall delivery of prompt and organized trauma care. Additionally, staff was commended for showing great pride of ownership and a desire to improve trauma care for their community.
